The Seven Seals of Revelation

Four Horseman

The first seal permits the Beast to conquer the earth.

Rev 6:1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!”
Rev 6:2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

The Revelation symbols pertaining to the Beast will be active at the time the first seal opens.

BEAST: An antichrist once appeared in the image of Adolf Hitler when he attempted to gain control of the earth from his seat of power in Germany during World War II (1939-45).  After him a beast was nearly fashioned into the image of Saddam Hussein when he momentarily annexed Kuwait into his Babylonian style empire (1990-91).  Now a new beast has emerged along with a caliphate formed on June 29, 2014 by Islamic Terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi with the sole purpose of waging global jihad.  The demons are urging this same Amir al-Mu’minin Caliph Ibrahim to conquer Rome and Spain so as to advance the throne of Satan across Europe.  From the ashes of the fallen Roman Empire a Mediterranean Sea Beast is attempting to rise up (Rev 13:1-10).

10-HORNS: On September 11, 2014 the USA announced that 10 Islamic states agreed to join the international coalition against ISIL.  Apparently this Islamic beast has just sprouted 10 horns (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates).  The consolidation of beastly power has not yet been fulfilled (Rev 17:13).

3-HORNS UPROOTED: ( See Dan 7:8) ISIL now appears to be in the process of uprooting Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon and replacing it with the Islamic State.

BABYLON THE GREAT:  In the time of the Babylonian empire the global city of power was located in Babylon,Iraq.  In the days of the Roman Empire the global city of power was located in Rome, Italy.  In our present day the global city of power is located in Washington D.C., U.S.A.

2-WITNESSES:  The two witness will appear in Jerusalem at the appointed time, clothed in sackcloth, and will prophesy in the power and name of the Lord of heaven.  Their appearance will mark the beginning of the last 3 1/2 years before our Lord Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem.   An Islamic beast seems to have emerged in the Middle East bearing 10 horns and riding on top of this beast is the great harlot city of Babylon.  Jesus commanded his followers to keep watch for the time of his return (Matthew 24:32-35,42; Revelation 1:1,22:6).

The second seal seems to indicates civil unrest, ethnic wars and bloody mayhem.

Rev 6:3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!”
Rev 6:4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.

The beast or antichrist is also given power to make jihad style war against Christians and to conquer them (Dan 7:25; Rev 13:11-18).  Should Islamic terrorists gain control of a nation or territory they will kill every male who does not submit to Allah. These radicalized Muslims who wage jihad will lie, murder, plunder, and rape while singing praise to Allah as they bow to worship six times per day towards the image of Mohammed in Mecca.

The third seal indicates the dramatic impact of famine that happens after prolonged drought conditions.

Rev 6:5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.
Rev 6:6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

Take note that California is currently experiencing it’s worst drought in the past 150 years and freshwater storage is decreasing to alarming levels.   A true famine disaster in this interconnected world would first be reflected in the futures market followed by skyrocketing food prices.

The fourth seal is the culmination of these four divine judgments unleashed upon the earth that risk up to 1.8 billion people dying by sword, famine, plague, and wild beasts (cf. Ezekiel 14:12-21).

Rev 6:7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”
Rev 6:8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Take note that the Ebola plague in West Africa in 2014 was the largest Ebola outbreak in history.  Ebola status Man the steward of the living God on this earth from the time of creation finally loses control over nature including wild beasts which no longer have the fear of man (future).

Once these four seals have been opened the four horses speed across the earth spreading their disasters.  It is during this terrible time that the Beast somehow gains power to rule over the earth with the exception of Israel.  The time frame allotted for the throne of the beast is confirmed in triplicate: 3 1/2 years (Rev 12:14,13:5) , 42 months (Rev 11:2) , or 1260 days (Rev 11:3, 12:6).  Understand that Daniel’s final seven is divided equally where the first half represents the 3 1/2 year earthly ministry of Jesus Christ (28-32 AD) and the second half represents the 3 1/2 year period of Great Tribulation allotted to the beast at the end of this age. The middle of the seven  separates these two halves and conceals the Church age beginning from Pentecost until the present day (Dan 9:26-27).

The fifth seal suggests that a multitude of Christians have already been martyred during the great tribulation (cf. Rev 16:6).

Rev 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
Rev 6:10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
Rev 6:11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

Jesus warned his church that Christians will not be exempt from Satan’s wrath but rather must endure it (Rev 12:17; 13:9-10).  During the great tribulation one persistent goal of Satan is to cause Christians to renounce their faith and to receive the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead (Rev 13:11-18).

The sixth seal (Rev 6:12-7:17) clearly portrays the rapture of the church.

Rev 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Rev 7:10 And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
Rev 7:11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
Rev 7:12 saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”
Rev 7:14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 7:15 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple;and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.
Rev 7:16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

This is consistent with the gospel accounts of the rapture that Jesus described to his disciples (Mt 24:29-31, Mk 13:24-27, Lk 21:25-28).   The Apostle Paul wrote that the church will one day go “to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thes  4:13-18).  As a point of clarification Paul writes that the rapture cannot occur until antichrist is revealed (2 Thes 2:1-4).   After the sixth seal rapture of the church the door for salvation to the Gentile nations will forever be shut because it would be impossible for anyone wearing the mark of the beast to also be saved (Rev 9:20-21).  The moment of rapture delivers the Christian church from Satan’s wrath and simultaneously makes the earth available for the wrath of God to be poured out on all unbelievers (Rev 6:17, 1 Thes 1:10). The two witnesses in Jerusalem appear clothed in sackcloth (Rev 11:3).  Christians who remain on the earth after the rapture will be the 144,000 blameless Jews having the seal of the living God on their foreheads (Rev 7:3,14:1,22:4) along with these two Jewish Prophets likened to Moses and Elijah (Rev 11:1-14).  Surely in those days the LORD will fulfill all the words of the prophet Zechariah concerning Israel.

The seventh seal (Rev 8:1-16:21) encompasses the seven Trumpets and the seven Bowls of God’s wrath.  The Trumpet judgments will consume 1/3 of the earth.  The bowl judgments follow and are even worse.  Israel remains protected throughout the Great Tribulation until the 6th bowl  (Rev 16:12-16) of God’s wrath is poured out.   At this point Satan lunges for Israel one last time by causing all the nations of the earth to send their armies so as to throw Israel into the sea.  However at the critical moment of annihilation the 7th bowl  (Rev 16:17-21) of God’s consuming wrath is poured out over the entire earth.   Finally Jesus returns from heaven to Jerusalem as Lord of Lords and King of Kings (Rev 19:11-21) to reign on this earth for 1000 years (Rev 20:1-6).

Jn 3:13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.
Jn 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, Jn 3:15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jn 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Jn 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
