Rev 6:12-7:17 Sixth Seal Rapture of All Christians

Scripture clearly indicates that there is only going to be one rapture and that it will happen during the great tribulation described in Revelation.

Sixth Seal Rapture

Comparing Matthew and Revelation clarifies the timing of the rapture to happen during the great tribulation and after the sixth seal has been opened.  Please note that all the verses in Matthew (Mt 24:21-31) are in sequence.  The verses from Revelation are taken from the fifth seal (Rev 6:9-11), from the sixth seal (Rev 6:12-7:17), and a concise description of the beast and the false prophet (Rev 13:11-18, 19:19-20).

THE GREAT TRIBULATION

Mt 24:21 For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
Mt 24:22 If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Rev 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
Rev 6:10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
Rev 6:11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

ANTICHRIST AND THE FALSE PROPHET

Mt 24:23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
Mt 24:24
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.
Mt 24:25
See, I have told you ahead of time.
Mt 24:26
“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

Rev 13:11 Then I saw another beast, coming out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon.
Rev 13:12
He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.
Rev 13:13
And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men.
Rev 13:14
Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
Rev 13:15
He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
Rev 13:16
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,
Rev 13:17
so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
Rev 13:18
This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man’s number. His number is 666.

Rev 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.
Rev 19:20
But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

Mt 24:27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Mt 24:28
Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

The appearance of the true messiah will come suddenly like lightning from above.  Vultures on the other hand circle slowly around a dead body (or a false prophet) found upon the earth.

SIGNS IN THE HEAVENS (after the tribulation)

Mt 24:29 “Immediately after the distress of those days “ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

Rev 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
Rev 6:13
and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

SUDDEN APPEARANCE OF JESUS CHRIST TO THE WHOLE WORLD

Mt 24:30 “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

Rev 6:14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Rev 6:15
Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
Rev 6:16
They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
Rev 6:17
For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

THE SIMULTANEOUS RAPTURE OF ALL CHRISTIANS

Mt 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Rev 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
Rev 7:10
And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
Rev 7:11
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
Rev 7:12
saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
Rev 7:13
Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”
Rev 7:14
I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

CONCLUSION

Mercifully Christians will never have to endure the 7 trumpets and the 7 bowls of God’s wrath.  However It is clear that after the rapture there will be a select group of Jewish male Christians (the 144,000) who will remain on earth during the 7 trumpets and that God will also provide them supernatural protection during this awful time of judgment.

It would be tragic for an unbeliever to wake up one day and look up just after the heavens have disappeared with a roar and seeing only Jesus sitting on his throne and then hearing the trumpets of God sounding forth one by one while the wrath of God is poured out upon the earth with the knowledge that the opportunity for true repentance has just expired.  Christians need to have zeal in carrying the Gospel to the end of the earth and loving one another until Jesus returns.

The second assumption commonly taught today is that Gentiles can be saved after the rapture.  The purpose of the 7 trumpets is for God to judge the dominion of Satan.  And the purpose of the 7 bowls of God’s wrath is to judge those who have allowed themselves to be branded with the mark of the beast.

After Jesus appears and becomes visible to all those who dwell upon the earth they will instantly also lose the opportunity to have faith in Him.  The only thing that remains for these unbelievers is face the terrible wrath of God.

That is why today is the day of salvation.

Ro 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
Ro 1:17
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Heb 3:7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:“Today, if you hear his voice,
Heb 3:8
do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert,
Heb 3:9
where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did.
Heb 3:10
That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’
Heb 3:11
So I declared on oath in my anger,‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ”
Heb 3:12
See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
Heb 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Heb 3:14 We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.
Heb 3:15
As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”
Heb 3:16
Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?
Heb 3:17
And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert?
Heb 3:18
And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed ?
Heb 3:19
So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.

  1. (OOPS!–reposting the comment since I forgot to check the box to be notified of follow-up comments. You can delete the previous one.)

This is an interesting viewpoint and timeline of how things could play out. I see several problems with it though.

    1. WHY would the 144,000 be sealed to be on Earth and go through the judgments (after the Rapture, you say) if no one else could be saved at that time?
    2. In fact, the 144,000 can’t be here after the Rapture. . . as I read further, I see Rev. 14:4 which says that they are the ‘firstfruits’, purchased from among men. They would have to be ‘Raptured’ at the same time as (or before) everyone else.
    3. Who would be the people referred to in Rev. 9:4, who can’t be harmed by the fifth trumpet judgment? (They have the seal of God on their foreheads.) If they got saved before the Rapture, why did they miss the Rapture?
    4. How do you explain Rev. 16:15 and its placement between the sixth and seventh bowls?

The frustrating thing is that when we realize we’ve made a wrong assumption, it often sends us back to ‘square one’. : \

How about you read through my post again, with an open mind, then let me know what you think–what potential problems or conflicts do you see? Let’s talk!

  2. So there are three groups of people separated at this time during the sixth seal.

    1) All Christian martyrs are found in heaven
    2) Unbelievers remain on the earth
    3) The 144,000 plus the two witnesses

    ============================

    1) All Christians martyrs are found to be in heaven after the sixth seal and before the seventh seal has been opened:

Heb 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Rev 7:9 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”
Rev 7:14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

I don’t necessarily rule out the possibility that ALL Christians get martyred by the beast. They are certainly in the process of getting badly mistreated and martyred too. So if the rapture doesn’t happen by the sixth seal then this great multitude of believers are all martyrs and are found in heaven only after they have been beheaded etc. However this could be 200 million or more Christians. For now I’ll leave out the rapture verses to see what it looks like.

    2) Unbelievers and all those who wear the mark of the beast remain on the earth to experience the full fury of God’s wrath:

Rev 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,
Rev 6:13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
Rev 6:14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
Rev 6:15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
Rev 6:16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!
Rev 6:17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

The Seven Trumpets and the Seven Bowls of God’s wrath follow.

    https://truthlife.wordpress.com/2011/07/24/wrath-of-god-follows-sixth-seal-rapture-of-all-christians/

    3) The 144,000 Male Jewish Christians wear the seal of God prominently on their foreheads. They remain on the earth while the seven trumpets sound off. And because they have the seal of the living God on their forehead they are not harmed by the wrath from above or from the demons below. However it is fairly clear in Revelation that these 144,000 are the only believers who remain on the earth after the seventh seal has been opened and for the duration of the 7 trumpets which signal that the Jesus is taking this earth as His Kingdom.

Rev 9:1 The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss.
Rev 9:2 When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss.
Rev 9:3 And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth.
Rev 9:4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads

Rev 11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Well that was the Last Trumpet

1Co 15:50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
1Co 15:51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—
1Co 15:52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
1Co 15:53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.

Here the 144,000 have been glorified and are found to now be worshiping the Lamb in heaven along with the other tribulation saints. Certainly they have been given spiritual bodies.

Rev 14:1 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
Rev 14:2 And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.
Rev 14:3 And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.
Rev 14:4 These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.

Afterwards the 144,000 and all tribulation martyrs come back with Jesus to posses the Kingdom.

Rev 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
Rev 19:13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
Rev 19:14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
Rev 19:16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Rev 19:17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
Rev 19:18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great.”
Rev 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.
Rev 19:20 But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.
Rev 19:21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

  3. Ok, so it looks like you’re left with either:
    1. Two Raptures, one at the 6th seal and one at the 7th trumpet or
    2. One Rapture, at the 7th trumpet–and all Christians (except the 144,000 and the 2 witnesses) have been martyred before the trumpets begin.

Do you see what I mean?

If you go with option #2, that the Rapture is at the 7th trumpet–then why do you believe all the Christians must have died before the trumpets begin?

    • The Great Tribulation begins sometime before the fifth seal and the oppression and martyrdom or Christians continues unabated.

However sometime during the sixth seal a great multitude of believers are found in heaven before the throne.

How did this great multitude of believers get there from out of the Great Tribulation with glorified bodies?

I suggest there are only two possibilities: a) by martyrdom or b) by rapture.

If the rapture happens at the 6th seal then the 144,000 have also been glorified bodies at that time. But God will given these Hebrews who remain on the earth a special purpose which they will know about. In this way they are not harmed by the wrath from above or by demonic powers below.

Ro 11:25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
Ro 11:26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
Ro 11:27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”

But these 144,000 will not be preaching to the Gentiles this far into the tribulation because by that time everyone who has not already repented will wear the mark of the beast and therefore cannot be saved.

If the rapture happens after the 7th trumpet then Christian believers will also need to die by the wrath of God during the 1 through 7 trumpet blasts. Only only the 144,000 are provided special protection during this time of wrath.

But either way the rapture will happen sometime during the Great Tribulation and the Lord’s grace will be sufficient for every Christian.

  4. You say:
“How did this great multitude of believers get there from out of the Great Tribulation with glorified bodies?

I suggest there are only two possibilities: a) by martyrdom or b) by rapture.”

That is a really good point. Are their bodies glorified? I think that is a major clue. You make a lot of really good points and I am learning from you too. Sorry if I seem like I’m just being argumentative. You are the first person I’ve attempted to reconcile theories with, because everyone else’s were too full of holes to know where to begin. Hopefully you’ll indulge me a bit further. “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” : )

If their bodies ARE glorified, that may leave more questions than answers. But would they be seen if they DIDN’T have glorified bodies? The only people that are mentioned in heaven, before them, are the SOULS (literal?) of previous martyrs.

We know there is yet another group, who MAY be martyrs–or perhaps they were able to hide during the tribulation . . . that is the group mentioned in Revelation 15:2. It does not call them a multitude, so I think they are different than the group in Revelation 7.

At any rate, it seems they die very late in the tribulation.

    * Leaving that aside, I do dispute that
“there are only two possibilities: a) martyrdom or b) rapture”.

Although you may be right–It is ALSO possible that the great multitude in heaven are there because they died during the great calamities of the seals–earthquakes, wars, pestilence, famine, or the effects of the seven trumpets and bowls: thirst, scorching heat, etc.. Rev. 7:16 also suggests that

“Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.”.

    * I would also challenge that
“these 144,000 will not be preaching to the Gentiles this far into the tribulation because by that time everyone who has not already repented will wear the mark of the beast and therefore cannot be saved.”

That sounds like an assumption–but you may be right. It is possible though, that The Mark does not reach every nation and tribe of people at the same time. It could be argued that there are still people in the deepest jungles at that time that have not been Marked or heard the gospel.

    * And I would question this
“If the rapture happens after the 7th trumpet then Christian believers will also need to die by the wrath of God during the 1 through 7 trumpet blasts. Only only the 144,000 are provided special protection during this time of wrath.”

(The Rapture will not occur AFTER the 7th trumpet. Rev. 10: 7) But I question the assumption that ONLY the 144,000 are provided special protection. It seems that would directly contradict II Peter 2:9 “the LORD knows how to rescue godly men from trials . . . ” and possibly Revelation 3:10 “I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world . . . “.

It seems the more we try to understand, the less we do. I would however, challenge your belief that Jesus returns at the 6th seal and no Gentiles can be saved after that.

    • “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

Just to clarify I still think the Rapture will happen during the Sixth Seal.

However I would like to also clarify my viewpoint about the time frame of the great tribulation which may help you understand my interpretation.

When studying Revelation I don’t think we can neglect the prophet Daniel (9:26-27, 12:1-7) and the duration of antichrist’s rule to be 42 months, 1260 days, or 3 1/2 years (Rev 11:2-3, 12:14, 13:5).

Da 12:4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”

Just who continues killing those Christians during the fifth seal if not the beast?

The fifth seal-trumpet-bowl sequence I believe relates to the unseen spiritual realm and the kingdom of Satan on earth.

Rev 13:5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months.

      Throne of the beast
      ===============
      >Seal5 – Christians martyred (while the beast rules)
      >Trumpet5 – demons torture mankind for 5 months
      >Trumpet5 – 144,00 protected
      >Bowl5 – Satan’s kingdom plunged into darkness (rev 16:10)
      >Bowl5 – man’s agony increased
      >Bowl5 – man refused to repent
      >Israel (woman) and definitely the 144,000 are protected for 1260 days during the tribulation (Re 12:6, 12:13,12:14)
      >Devil and demons hurled to earth (Re 12:9)
      >Christians overcome Satan through death (Re 12:11, 13:10)
      >Beast out of the sea (Rev 13:1-10)
      >Beast out of the earth (Rev 13:11-18)

Christians are Victorious over the beast
      ==============================

Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” Rev 7:14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Rev 7:15 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple;and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Rev 7:16 Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. Rev 7:17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

Having money but refusing to take the mark of the beast a great many Christians will go hungry. It seems like the options for being faithful to Jesus will also result in many being killed by the sword or dying slowly in outdoor captivity by which they will suffer long term exposure to the sun and will also experience dehydration without sufficient drinking water. It is out of this kind of dire situation when the Rapture suddenly happens.

Rev 13:8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. Rev 13:9 He who has an ear, let him hear. Rev 13:10 If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.

Rev 13:15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. Rev 13:16 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, Rev 13:17 so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Rev 15:2 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God

Rev 20:4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

    • Thanks for all the great comments and insight that I previously did not consider. I’ll let some of these ideas settle for a while.

But what I was also trying to say is that those who wear the mark of the beast can no longer be evangelized.

After the Rapture the window of grace closes and all that remains is judgement.

Rev 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. Rev 6:10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” Rev 6:11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed

I THINK I agree with all you said in your last 2 comments. Let me ask this, because I may have been confused: It seemed to me (in your post and other comments) that you were looking at the Tribulation as a series of events that plays out in the exact order in which they are written.

But now, I wonder if you actually see it more as I do.

I believe that the events may be playing out side by side. I think Revelation can be divided into ‘chunks’, and these chunks can be placed side by side. I believe that by the time we get to the 6th seal, 6th trumpet, and 6th bowl–they are pretty much happening simultaneously.

Because of the way I view it, I believe that the Rapture and Second Coming are 2 parts of the same event–and that that event will occur just before the opening of the 7th seal, just before the sounding of the 7th trumpet, and just before the pouring out of the 7th bowl.

I believe the 7th seal, trumpet, and bowl are when Jesus ‘smites the nations’. (This may be a 30 day battle. As I think you noted, there are demonic beings here then, that have been released during the 5th and 6th trumpets.)

      • I think you have succinctly explained our slightly different futuristic interpretation as to how these events will possibly unfold: sequentially vs. simultaneously.

Here is why I believe events will unfold sequentially.
 opening the first four seals cause one-fourth (25%) of the earth to be devastated by 1) sword 2)famine 3)plague, and 4) wild beasts
 opening the seventh seal brings forth the seven trumpets
 the trumpets numbered 1,2,3,4,6 each bring forth increased wrath measured by one-third (33%) strength
 the fifth trumpet provides a literal time frame of 5 months
 sounding the seventh trumpet brings forth the seven bowls of God’s wrath in full (100%) strength

I’m deducing an overall timeframe for the 7 seals to be seven years based on Daniel’s seventieth seven (Dan 7:25, 9:27). Revelation clarifies what happens after the middle of the seven (3 ½ years, 42 months, 1260 days) where the Beast is given great authority, power, and a kingdom to rule over the earth. I’m left to conclude that the Beast appears as the rider on the white horse (first seal). Likewise I see the wrath of God in progression starting at 25% strength during the seals, 33% strength from the trumpets, and finally 100% strength from the bowls of God’s wrath. Afterwards God’s wrath is completed and he disposes of the Beast and the False Prophet and brings in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

  5. Ok. I think that clears it up for me. Thanks so much for taking the time to discuss this!
